I've been asked many times how come that I'm distributing my music for free and not trying to sell it.

Well, music is something that I enjoy to do, it's a hobby, I will do it regardless if I'm getting

paid for that or not and if anyone could benefit from my works I'd be pleased.

About me

In Indian music Sa, Re, Ga and Ma are the first 4 notes of Saptak - an octave of seven notes. I guess I picked the nick SaReGaMa because I'm really fond of Indian classical music, which in my humble opinion is the most profound and sophisticated music in the world.

You can learn a lot about a person by knowing his musical preferences. Well, I can listen almost to everything, except Pop, Rock and Trance ( funny I began with Electronic music making Trance). In Electronic music among the favorites are : Steve Roach, Alio Die, Mercan Dede, Jairamji, Nitin Sawhney, Prem Joshua, Ishq, FSOL, Union Jack, Thievery Corporation etc.

I started making music as a hobby using Yamaha CS1, Cool Edit and FL Studio. I've also been playing flute in the Ethnic Rock band named Igra Rama and done several solo performances for background music in happenings. I had a big passion for music but not enough means to afford musical instruments, so I learned how to build them. Most of the instruments I have are homemade.

I don't remember I had touched a musical instrument till the age 16, and then suddenly I discovered that I have a talent for music - I learn to play very quickly any instrument that comes to my hands. The instruments I play nowadays are : piano, guitar, different kinds of ethnic flutes, didgeridoo, percussions, kalimba and jews harp. These instruments are prevalent in the electronic music I make. I prepared a little demo album including those instruments. It was recorded at home with a cellphone microphone and a built-in soundcard, so some frequencies are missing, my apologies to audiophiles :)

However, the purple album "Samadhi" is a completely different story due to the decent recording equipment I finally was able to purchase. The album includes collaborations with two wonderful artists such as Nikila and Hamelin Bérengnier and that elevates it to another level making it my best album. A full length album of our collaborations is available here.

The album Bodhi Tree contains works from the last 3 years. I had a difficulty to define its genre 'cause the tracks are very diverse. Tranquil ambience, gloomy soundscapes, sounds of nature, polyrhythmic breakbeats, jazz textures and world music - it's all there.

The album 4D Reality begins with recent works and finishes with early works, some of them are even from the past millenium. Also this album's musical style is extremely varied.

My music can be great for background listening but at the same time it's very elaborated and deserves to be listened in a serious manner with full attention. I invest a lot in the sense of ambient 3D space - depth, distances, directions, motions and their dynamics. The tracks are loaded with little details, sounds and stereo effects. To experience them fully you need your speakers to be set as wide as possible (4 meters at least recommended) and sit in the middle in front of them. Some tracks contain up to 80 channels and comprise irregular beats of 1.5 - 2.5 - 3 - 5 - 6 - 7 etc. So listen carefully, try not to miss it.

Sarva Mangalam.
